The five most anticipated cars of 2017 are composed of familiar names: Alfa Romeo, Chevrolet, Ferrari, Fiat, Jaguar…
Surprisingly, 2017 is the year of SUVs. Short for sport/suburban utility vehicles, these are four wheelers popular for their higher driving position, cargo-carrying facilities and capacity to transport more passengers. You’ll see for yourself how SUVs are dominating the market as you read along.
Let’s dive in.
Alfa Romeo Stevio: This is Alfa Romeo’s first SUV. The name is inspired by the Stelvio Pass, the highest mountain road in Italy, and has a distinctive design. Two engines are in the offering. The Stelvio Quadrifogli offers 550 horsepower and can compete with Mercedes, BMW and Porsche offerings while the Stevio offers 280 horsepower. Italian craftsmanship ensures an interior with generous legroom and luxurious finish. This will be a welcome addition to the SUV family. The starting price is £35k.
- The Chevrolet Bolt: This is a hybrid electric car from an automobile division of the American General Motors. The list price is $33, 220, the battery range up to 53 electric miles and the total range up to 220 miles. An impressive 1000 miles are expected between fill-ups with regular charging. It comes in 8 colors: “Heather Gray Metallic”, “Silver Ice Metallic”, “Summit White”, “Mosaic Black Metallic”, “Pepperdust Metallic”, “Citron Green Metallic”, ”Kinetic Blue Metallic” with an extra charge of 395 and “Iridescent Pearl Tricoat” with an extra charge of 995. Two different wheels are offered. The interior can be of cloth or leather. There are three options for each. Chevrolet is the first company to offer built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi† to cars, trucks and crossover SUVs. When their cars are running or is in accessory mode, drivers have a more powerful connection than a smartphone or mobile hotspot.
- Ferrari GTC4Lusso T: The third spot on the list is another four seater by an Italian company. However, the similarities end there. Ferrari produces supercars, which are much more expensive. The Ferrari GTC4Lusso T is the lighter, less expensive successor of 2016’s Ferrari GTC4Lusso. It has a v8 twin turbo with 602 hp, which makes it a rear wheel only drive. The price for such exclusivity is £240,340. It is meant to be spacious. It’ll be one of the sexiest sedans out there, that’s for sure! It can be configured down to the last detail, too.
- FCA BraunAbility Pacifica: This SUV makes the cut because Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has outdone itself by creating the most spacious wheelchair-accessible vehicle in the industry with the patent-pending Access Ability technology. The starting price is $57,000. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is currently considering a merger with General Motors, the second automobile manufacturer on this discerning list.
- The last car on the list is not even a slinky SUV, it is a luxury sports car. With price starting from $61, 400, it has a 340 horsepower V6 engine, LED headlamps and allows drivers to record up to 10 minutes of footage of themselves driving. The F-type has 22 versions, from coupes to convertibles. Some of these models come with V8 engines and customisability like Ferrari GTC4Lsusso T.
These are the five most awaited cars of 2017. They’ve been deemed the best after being judged in terms of affordability, performance, everyday usability, innovation and pizzazz. Count down the days until you can call one of these beauties your own!
